ACTS 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, a prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me,
ACTS 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers
I once heard a sermon titled, “Humpty Dumpty” using the English nursery rhyme as an illustrative sermon. The message which was profoundly delivered was about the fall of man and the only remedy for his condition. As the rhyme goes, “All the king’s horses and all the king’s men couldn’t put ‘Humpty Dumpty’ back together again.” Using these words as an analogy, the preacher spoke of how the great fall of Adam and thus all of humanity, was plunged into sin. God began to send His servants and saints, (“the king’s horses and the king’s men”) to save mankind, only to find that the hearts of man grew worse and worse. Noah was rejected as was Moses, Elijah, Jeremiah, and all those down through time who tried to proclaim and expose sin. The emphasis being, the need of “ONE MORE”, and that was Christ.
As the message went on, the preacher used an allegorical scene of God calling a conference in Heaven to discuss the tragedy of man. This illustration was used in an animated and fictional form of course; however, the story proclaims a great lesson of truth. This is the point: As great as Moses was in leading the children of Israel out of Egypt and the giving of the law, and all the messages and illustrated lives of the priests and prophets, there was the need of another. THE ONE MORE. Think of Noah and Elijah, David, Samuel, Jeremiah. All were blessed men of faith sent from God, but
There were many Sacrifices made over thousands of years, but there was a need of ONE MORE…HIS NAME IS JESUS.
There were many Priests who mediated for mankind through the offerings to God, but there was the need of ONE MORE… HIS NAME IS JESUS.
There were many Prophets who brought God’s Word to the people, but there was the need of ONE MORE…HIS NAME IS JESUS
THANK GOD HE SENT “ONE MORE” WHO WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD OR WOULD DO THE MORE THAT WAS NEEDED FOR OUR HEARTS
